Spark Mind Play is a cognitive engagement tool — not a medical device. It provides adaptive games designed for people living with dementia, operated by their caregivers. Spark does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
Spark is intended for use by adult caregivers (family members, professional carers, or facility staff) on behalf of people living with cognitive changes. By using Spark on behalf of another person, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to do so — whether as a Substitute Decision Maker (SDM), holder of Power of Attorney (POA) for personal care, or in another capacity recognized under applicable law. If you are unsure whether you have the legal authority to use Spark on behalf of another person, consult a legal professional before proceeding. The caregiver is solely responsible for determining whether the app is appropriate for their person and for all decisions made regarding that person's care.
Nothing in Spark constitutes medical advice, clinical assessment, or diagnostic information. Session data, engagement trends, and game performance are provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not measure, assess, or indicate cognitive function, disease progression, or treatment efficacy.
YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOU WILL NOT USE SESSION DATA, ENGAGEMENT SCORES, HINT USAGE, OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION PROVIDED BY SPARK TO MAKE MEDICAL DECISIONS, ADJUST MEDICATIONS, CHANGE TREATMENT PLANS, OR ASSESS COGNITIVE DECLINE. SUCH DECISIONS MUST BE MADE SOLELY IN CONSULTATION WITH A QUALIFIED HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL. SPARK IS AN ENGAGEMENT TOOL, NOT A MONITORING OR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.
If you observe changes in your person's behaviour or abilities — whether during Spark sessions or otherwise — consult their healthcare team directly. Do not rely on Spark data as evidence of improvement or decline.

Spark offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Subscriptions are processed through the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). dementia-tools.com does not handle payment directly. Cancellation, refunds, and billing are governed by the app store's terms.

You agree to use Spark only for its intended purpose: providing cognitive engagement activities for people living with dementia. You may not use Spark to make clinical claims, conduct unauthorized research, or misrepresent the app's capabilities.
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of Spark after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These Terms are governed by and are to be construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law provision, principle, or rule, and notwithstanding your domicile, residence, or physical location. For the purpose of all legal proceedings, these Terms shall be deemed to have been performed in the province of Ontario and the courts of the province of Ontario shall have jurisdiction to entertain any action arising under or out of these Terms. You and us both agree to irrevocably attorn and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the province of Ontario. You further waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to the venue of such courts. You agree to waive any right you may have to a trial by jury or to commence or participate in any class action against us related to our Services or these Terms.
